European animation studio TeamTO and U.S. animation house Martian Blueberry finalized a creative and strategic alliance to produce Junichiro Jackson (also referred to as JJ). The project represents TeamTO's initial venture into the premium adult animation market, serving as the launch title for its recently established production banner, TeamTOKO.

The project is currently undergoing active development as a serialized, 2D adult psychological thriller consisting of ten 30-minute episodes. The narrative architecture combines elements of neo-noir mystery, action sequences, anime-inspired design frameworks, and music-driven storytelling set within a stylized, near-future urban environment.

Narrative premise and international festival debutThe plot of Junichiro Jackson is situated within a technologically saturated and socially fractured iteration of New York City. The storyline monitors the investigations of private detective Junichiro Jackson as he navigates a complex network of personal challenges and literal adversarial forces following a routine investigation that exposes a systemic conspiracy threatening the structural stability of the metropolis.

A dedicated teaser trailer for the series, co-directed by animation filmmakers Slimane Aniss and Havtza, will make its public debut at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France. The screening is scheduled for June 23 at 2:45 PM during TeamTO’s Studio Focuspresentation, Come Fly with TeamTO, hosted at the Imperial Palace. Executive producers Marco Balsamo and Tara Sibel Demren from TeamTO will present the footage alongside Martian Blueberry co-founders Carl Jones and Love Jones to discuss the developmental stages of the intellectual property.

North American expansion and executive strategyFollowing its initial European presentation, the animated property will transition to the North American market for a specialized teaser screening at the Dream Con convention in Houston, Texas. The regional debut will take place during Martian Blueberry’s dedicated industry panel, From Boondocks to Martian Blueberry. The promotional event will feature a live musical performance by the hip-hop ensemble Coast Contra, who are under contract to compose original music and audio tracks for the animated series.

Carl Jones and Love Jones, co-founders of Martian Blueberry, indicated that the joint venture with TeamTO aims to advance animation culture by incorporating diverse cultural perspectives and experimental narrative formats outside conventional Hollywood frameworks. Corporate representatives from both production entities confirmed that Junichiro Jackson constitutes the foundational asset of a broader, multi-project strategic pipeline currently being designed by the transatlantic alliance.
