MIFA 2026: TEAMTO AND THE TETRIS COMPANY PARTNER FOR "TETRIS: WORLD BUILDERS"

Unveiled during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, the upcoming CG-animated project transforms the legendary video game IP into a STEAM-inspired children's adventure.

French animation studio TeamTO and The Tetris Company have closed a development partnership to produce "Tetris: World Builders," a brand-new 52x11' CG-animated adventure series targeted at children aged six and older. The project, which officially debuted during TeamTO’s Studio Focus presentation at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, represents the first time human child characters will be introduced into a narrative universe based on the puzzle franchise.
Currently in early development, the series was created by TeamTO producers Marco Balsamo and Tara Sibel Demren alongside executive producer Chuck Williams, recognized for his work on the "Sonic the Hedgehog" cinematic adaptations. The storyline follows a team of young heroes who must utilize ingenuity and STEAM-based problem-solving (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) when massive geometric Tetrimino blocks begin falling from the sky, transforming challenges into community building opportunities.
